In this January Ask a Beek, we sort through fact vs fiction on "Africanized", or "killer", bees.  We present the history of the East African lowland honey bee and how the genetics of this sub-species first landed in South America.  We also rate the real threat and present some tips on assessing and handling aggressive colonies.
